Many Hunter Valley properties sit close to bushland. The NSW Rural Fire Service runs the 10/50 Vegetation Clearing Scheme. If your property is in a designated 10/50 entitlement area, you can clear trees within 10 metres of your home, and shrubs and other underlying vegetation (but not trees) within 50 metres, without seeking approval. The RFS has an online tool to check whether your address is in an entitlement area. Once you know what you are allowed to clear, we can take the trees and vegetation down safely around your house.
