Fast, Safe Removal of Fallen, Unstable or Hazardous Trees

If a tree has come down on your house, your car, across the driveway or onto the road, call us on (02) 4956 6602, we run emergency tree removal across Newcastle and the Hunter, including after hours. We’ll make the site safe first, then deal with the full removal. As qualified arborists since 1998, we know storm-damaged trees are unpredictable and under load, so we take them apart in the right order instead of making a bad situation worse.

When it’s a real emergency

Some tree problems can wait for a quote next week. These can’t — call straight away if:

  • A tree or large limb is on your house, roof, car or shed
  • A tree is blocking the road, driveway or only access to your property
  • A tree is leaning, split or partly uprooted after a storm and could come down further
  • A large limb is hung up in the canopy and could drop
  • A tree is touching or tangled in powerlines (read the safety note below first)

If someone’s in immediate danger, call 000 first.

Powerlines — what to do before you call us

If a tree is on or touching powerlines, treat the lines as live. Don’t go near it, and keep everyone well clear. Call Ausgrid on 13 13 88 (the network operator for Newcastle and the Hunter) to make the lines safe — we don’t work on live electrical lines. Once it’s safe, we’ll handle the tree.

Our Newcastle Tree Removal Process

We follow a structured, safety-focused process to ensure every tree removal is completed efficiently and responsibly.

1

Site Assessment

We evaluate the tree’s health, stability, and location — including access, nearby buildings, and fall zones.

2

Risk Management

Hazards are identified and controlled before work begins, using qualified climbers and certified gear.

3

Safe Removal

Branches are removed in stages using ropes and rigging to lower each limb safely. Nothing is left to chance.

4

Clean-Up

All debris is mulched or removed, leaving your yard clear, safe, and damage-free.

What happens when we arrive

  1. Make safe first. We assess what’s holding the tree up and remove the immediate danger, get it off the structure, clear the access, stabilise what’s left.
  2. Then full removal. Once the site’s safe, we remove the rest of the tree, and grind the stump if you want the job finished completely.
  3. Clean up. We clear the debris so you’re not left with the mess on top of the stress.

After a storm

Newcastle gets hit with East Coast Lows and summer storms that bring down healthy-looking trees, not just dead ones.
If your tree came down in weather, this may be tied to a storm-damaged or dangerous tree situation across your block, we can look at the whole property while we’re there, not just the one that fell.

Insurance

A lot of emergency tree jobs are covered by home or contents insurance, especially storm damage. We’re happy to work in with your insurer’s process and provide what they need to assess the claim.
Check your policy, if you’re covered, the out-of-pocket cost can be far lower than people expect.

Why a qualified arborist for emergency work

A tree under load after a storm is nothing like a standard removal. The weight’s in the wrong places, limbs are pinned with tension, and one wrong cut can send a trunk or branch moving fast. This is exactly the work that goes wrong when it’s handed to someone without the training.
Our crew is arborist-led and fully insured, Citation Certified to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, and we’ve been doing this across the Hunter since 1998. For non-urgent jobs, see our standard tree removal service.

Where we respond

Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Cessnock, Port Stephens and the wider Hunter region.
