The Brief
Insight Building Services contacted us to remove a large eucalypt from a development site in Edgeworth, where a new childcare centre was under construction. The tree stood right where the next stage of the build needed to happen, so Insight needed our arborist team to manage the entire removal and keep the project on schedule.

The Challenge
The tree was a mature gum growing right on the road boundary, too large and too close to the powerlines and passing traffic for standard climbing and rigging work. It was always going to be a crane job, which meant careful coordination between our arborists, the crane operator, and traffic management on a live road.
Our Approach
We brought in our full team for this one. Working with a crane organised by Insight, our climbing arborist sectioned the tree from the canopy down while each piece was lifted clear by the crane rather than dropped, protecting the road, the site and the powerlines running alongside it. Traffic control was coordinated with the construction team to keep the road safe for the duration of the lift.
Jobs like this come down to sequencing. The powerlines, the traffic, the crane movements and the timber coming down all have to be managed together, not one at a time. We coordinated closely with the site manager throughout so our removal fitted into the broader construction timeline without holding up the other trades on site.
The Result
The site was cleared and ready for the next stage of construction within a day, with the road, the powerlines and the neighbouring properties undisturbed throughout the lift.
